असम: असम सरकार के एक मंत्री ने अलग अलग समाचार चैनलों के दो पत्रकारों को ‘‘गायब’’ करने की कथित तौर पर धमकी दी है. ये वो पत्रकार हैं जिन्होंने मंत्री की पत्नी के विवादास्पद चुनावी भाषण की रिपोर्टिंग की थी. हालांकि धमकी की बात बाहर आने के तुरंत बाद ही कांग्रेस ने मांग की कि विधानसभा चुनाव के लिये उनकी उम्मीदवारी रद्द की जाए.
पुलिस के अनुसार उनमें से एक पत्रकार ने मोरीगांव जिले के जगीरोड थाने में प्रदेश के स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण राज्य मंत्री पीयूष हजारिका के खिलाफ शिकायत दर्ज करायी है लेकिन अब तक प्राथमिकी दर्ज नहीं की गयी है.
असमी समाचार चैनल ने एक ऑडियो क्लिप प्रसारित किया था, जिसमें हजारिका को पत्रकार नजरूल इस्लाम से बातचीत करते सुना जा सकता है. इस बातचीत के दौरान मंत्री ने नजरूल और एक अन्य पत्रकार तुलसी को उनके घरों से घसीट कर बाहर निकालने और ‘‘गायब ’’ करने की धमकी दी.

बीजेपी उम्मीदवार ने फोन पर बातचीत में कहा कि वह दुखी हैं क्योकि उन लोगों ने उनकी पत्नी एमी बरूआ के विवादास्पद बयान की रिपोर्टिंग की, जो उन्होंने एक चुनावी सभा के दौरान दिया था. यह बातचीत अब वायरल हो रही है. इस संबंध में प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष रिपुन बोरा ने राज्य के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी को एक ज्ञापन दिया और मंत्री की उम्मीदवारी रद्द करने तथा उनके खिलाफ प्राथमिकी दर्ज कराने की मांग की.
